What is InnerRhythms Vision and Mission?

Our Vision is to promote cultural enhancement and build awareness for the arts in the North Tahoe/Northern Nevada region through education, performance excellence and a unique, collaborative alliance between dance and other performing and media arts.  Our Mission is to use the power of dance and music to cultivate life skills in our youth, promote global stewardship, and create an everlasting passion for the arts in the communities we serve.

What types of dance classes do you offer?

We offer dance classes in multiple disciplines to community members of all ages and abilities: Classical Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Breakin’, Contemporary, Modern, Tap, and MiniRhythms for Mini dancers age 3-6.

Do you perform for the community? How often?

Yes! We LOVE to perform and seek performance opportunities throughout our region. The number of performances varies every year depending on venue space and upcoming events. If you have an upcoming event, please let us know.

Do you have performance companies?

Yes! We have three youth Performance Companies: our Premier, InnerRhythms Dance Theatre, was founded in 2002. Over the past 13 years, InnerRhythms added RhythMatriX, our award-winning Hip-Hop troupe, and the Dance Theatre Apprentice Company.  These performance companies hold annual auditions open to the public.

Do you have competition groups?

Yes! While our main focus at InnerRhythms is to honor dance as an art form through artistic expression, we do offer several opportunities for the dance competition/convention experience through our youth performance companies.

InnerRhythms does NOT follow the TTUSD snow day closure schedule. Our open or closure status will be posted by 12 noon on questionable weather days. Conversely, if a storm develops during the day and driving becomes dangerous for everyone, we will close. Please check our status before driving.

Can my child stay at the studio when not in class to do homework or wait for a ride home?

We appreciate dancers being picked up at the end of their class time, especially our late night classes. Most of our instructors commute between 30-60 minutes to and from the Dance Centre. Picking up students in a timely manner is greatly appreciated.

Do you rent out your studio space?

Yes! Please contact our Studio Administrator for policies and rental rates.

What do we wear for dance class?

Every dance discipline has different attire. Ballet is the most formal with black or navy leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers and hair off the face in a bun. Jazz requires tan or black jazz shoes and comfortable leggings or pants. Hip-Hop dancers need clean tennis shoes (worn ONLY in the studio) and comfortable clothes to move in. Tap class obviously requires tap shoes and comfortable clothing. Water bottles are also needed for dancers.

How do I make a ballet bun?

Please ask the Studio Administrator at the front desk for a handout on how to make a ballet bun.

How do we enroll and make payments for dance classes?

All enrollments and payments are conducted through our studio management software called MindBody. Profiles for parents and dancers are created online, classes are scheduled, and a debit or credit card is submitted. All payments are automatically deducted from your account the first of each month.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 30-day written withdrawal form is required to cancel your enrollment and stop auto-pay deductions. This form must be obtained from and submitted to the Studio Administrator at the front desk.

Do you have shoes or dance clothes for sale at the studio?

Yes, visit our Dance Boutique at the Dance Centre.
